In a world of proposed European super leagues, oil backed super teams and supersonic transfer fees, fans and casual players have grown super cynical about what the modern game has come to represent.

Challenge

With so much attention being sucked up by mega sports brands, overly hyped football stars and teams playing in the most bombastic competitions on the planet, the challenge for Mitre was to find a meaningful voice that could cut through the hyperbole.

Change

‘Different League’ was a celebration of what counts about real football. From back garden maestros to the terraces of FA Cup underdogs to rival fans settling old scores over a pint and packet of pork scratchings, we created a campaign for real football people that laddered right up to the top tier pros but in a way that meant more than just another paycheque.
